Warehouse Quality Assurance Processes
Beginning in 1995, United Warehouse Company was the first 3PL to achieve ISO 9001 registration. We have spent the ensuing 20+ years guiding our warehouse company quality control and assurance processes using the 8 quality management principles on which the ISO 9000 series of standards is based.
- Customer focus
- Leadership
- Involvement of people
- Process approach
- System approach to management
- Continual Improvement
- Factual approach to decision making
- Mutually beneficial supplier relationships
These Quality Control Management Principles are applied first with a comprehensive new customer on-boarding process during which we seek to thoroughly understand your business, goals, unique requirements for custom packaging. We define the quality targets to achieve, and the metrics to be used, directly with you.
The leadership team at United Warehouse then leads the effort to design procedures to ensure the established quality targets are met. Customer specific requirements are used to establish storage guidelines, handling and inspection requirements and reporting. Members of our Customer Service and Warehouse operations staff cooperate closely with Management throughout this process.
Once these procedures and processes are designed, our employees are then trained on your specific products and requirements before beginning daily operations on your account. We constantly review our performance against the requirements established during the on-boarding process and seek to continually improve our efficiency, accuracy and timeliness. Necessary corrective actions are documented and reviewed at all levels of the organization.
The cooperatively-established metrics provide the facts we use to make process change decisions. When changes are made, the process is closely monitored and its effects on the metrics are constantly reviewed.
The overall performance of the quality system is reported to executive management by the quality control assurance manager during quarterly Management Review meetings.
Metric reporting and review is also scheduled with you as frequently as you desire. Most reports can be scheduled to be automatically delivered to you. When necessary, reporting can be customized to fit each individual customer’s need.
Consistent application of these warehouse quality control principles results in a system that creates, enhances, and supports mutually-beneficial relationships between United Warehouse and its customers.
